The first step is to contact a Realtor you know and trust to help explain the process and determine the value of your home.

While there is no standard amount set in Alberta, the common fee structure is 7% on the first $100,000 and 3% on the remaining amount, plus GST.
The total commission is split 50/50 between your agent and the buyer’s agent. The agents then have to pay their brokerages a portion, account for taxes, deduct expenses, etc.
